Telok Blangah & Sentosa
Overview: Telok Blangah & Sentosa area is situated slightly on the south west coast of the island. This area has a small handful of local eateries & shopping malls and is a short trip away from the popular Sentosa "Fun" Island, which boasts a number of beaches, splash parks, themed attractions and the up & coming second integrated resort & casino in Singapore (IR). The area is also attractive to expats as it provides easy access (Just 2 Kilometres away) to the central business district (CBD) and, going back the other way, easy access to the Jurong industrial area situated on the far south west of the island.

Entertainment & leisure: Mount Faber Park is a beautiful spot with glorious sunsets. It is also popular with runners, strollers and dog walkers due to its lush green rainforest and undulating landscaped pathways. Breath-taking views can be seen out to Keppel Harbour and Sentosa Island, which are best seen at sunset - preferably with a drink in hand (try the wonderful Altivo Bar). Mount Faber is also the starting point for the thrilling cable car ride to Sentosa Island - once you land in Sentosa do as a little or as much as you like! Well-to-do golfers will aspire to a round at Sentosa Keppel Golf Club, the country's most impressive golf course, which is also home to the annual Singapore Open and the world renowned Italian restaurant Il Lido. There are many options to dine and shop at the impressive futurist building of Vivo city as well the neighbouring Harbour Front Centre. The extremely popular and huge St James Power Station nightclub is nearby for all the discerning clubbers.

Pasir Panjang & Buona Vista
Overview: This area is situated along the south/west side of the island and about 8 Kilometres away from the CBD via the West Coast highway. It is also the academic heartland of Singapore and home to the International Science Park, West Coast Park, Ngee Ann Poly, SIM University, National University Hospital (NUH) and National University of Singapore (NUS). There are plenty of expat amenities that can be found just down from Buona Vista along Pasir Panjang Road. The area is within 15 minutes drive to the Central Business District. It is accessible from the other parts of Singapore via the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) and West Coast Highway.

Entertainment & leisure: Pasir Panjang Village has many local eateries and a couple of small local shopping plazas. Haw Par Villa is a strange yet wonderful outdoor park with over a thousand statues telling tales of ancient Chinese myths and legends, which was built by Aw Boon Haw for his brother Aw Boon Har, who are famous for the creation of the Tiger Balm Oil product. Labrador Park is a delightful green oasis which also hugs the west coast beach- it's great for picnics, running, cycling and fishing and it also contains some noteworthy World War II memorials. West Coast Park is also a popular spot for runners, and dog walkers will love the 'off leash' dog run area. In the Kent Ridge park area, another great spot for the outdoor enthusiast; you can pick up the awesome Henderson Waves walk, an undulating walkway structure that has been designed to link Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park. The nearby Gillman Village is a fantastic spot for drinks and dinning this former army barracks on Lock Road (right on the edge of the Jungle) houses great beer bars, fantastic restaurants and furniture stores. Excellent local swimming pool facilities can be found at the Buona Vista pool.

Upper West Coast & Jurong
Overview: The Upper West Coast & Jurong areas are very localised being home to hundreds of local housing blocks for Singaporeans (HDB). There are a number of varying private properties here for expats that provide easy access to the Jurong industrial area & Jurong Petrochemical Island. The area is about a 25-minute drive away from the CBD & Orchard road areas or about 35-40 Minutes on the MRT.

Entertainment & leisure: There are plenty of green parks, gardens and a lovely central lake - these parks include the Chinese Gardens, Japanese Gardens and the amazing Jurong Bird Park (the largest bird park in the Asia Pacific region). Snowball fights, skiing and snow boarding can actually happen in tropical Singapore - check out Snow City in central Jurong. Families will also love the 4D theatres experience at the Singapore Discovery Centre which tracks historic and memorable times in Singapore's history. Jurong East swimming pool is an excellent day's fun with its wave pool and water slides. There are plenty of mouth-watering local eating options at the hawker stalls at various locations in the district and all your shopping needs will be satisfied at the popular Jurong East Point mall.
